Bulletin N1 of the National Preventive Mechanism

The National Preventive Mechanism has published its first ever quarterly bulletin. The publication of the bulletin aims at raising public awareness on activities of the National Preventive Mechanism, human rights situation in closed institutions, latest developments on the international level as to the prevention of torture and other important issues.

In the Spring release bulletin readers can find information concerning the mandate of the National Preventive Mechanism, main events and visits conducted to the places of deprivation of liberty. Furthermore, they are well accommodated to keep an eye on basic, important activities carried out by the National Preventive Mechanism. Interestingly, the bulletin includes a special section that provides historic overview of a particular prison. It is noteworthy that it also encompasses analysis of dynamics of consideration/fulfillment of recommendations issued by the Public Defender of Georgia within the mandate of the National Preventive Mechanism.
