On May 30-31, 2018, First Deputy Public Defender took part in the 20^th Anniversary Conference of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen. The theme of the event held in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, was: "Ombudsmanas a protector of thesocial,cultural andenvironmentalrights".

At the conference, the Deputy Public Defender of Georgia delivered a report about the challenges in the protection of the right to live in a healthy environment in Georgia and the Public Defender's activities in the field of the protection of this right.

Tamar Gvaramadze also participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen and attended a special reception dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Macedonia held in the Parliament of Macedonia.
