Public Defender of Georgia Visits Penitentiary Establishment together with Armenia's Ombudsman

Nino Lomjaria, the Public Defender of Georgia, visited a penitentiary establishment together with Armenia's OmbudsmanArmanTatoyan during her visit to Yerevan. She got information about the prison conditions and infrastructure. She also met and talked with prisoners, including the Georgian citizens who are serving their sentences in the penitentiary establishmentof Yerevan.

Later, the Public Defender of Georgia spoke about the achievements and challenges in the field of human rights of Georgia at the meeting held with Armenia's Ombudsmanalong with her deputies and staff members.

"The human rights organizations of Armenia and Georgian have similar challenges and that's why it's important to share information. We should also underline the projects we are planning to implement together with Armeniaat the international level," Nino Lomjaria said.

The Public Defender of Georgia offered the Armenian Ombudsman to sign a memorandum of cooperation in Georgia in the nearest futurein order to further deepen relations.
