Impexpharma LLC Implements Public Defender’s Recommendation

Impexpharma LLC implemented the recommendation of the Public Defender relating to the discrimination on multiple grounds (gender and marital status).

According to the case files, the manager of one of the pharmacies in Poti, after the end of her maternity leave, was refused by the employer to work on the same position and was forced to take unpaid leave from March 5, 2022.

As a result of consideration of the recommendation of the Public Defender, Impexpharma LLC made a decision to:

  • restore the employment relationship with the applicant from February 20, 2024;
  • compensate the applicant for the missed period from March 5, 2022 to February 20, 2024;
  • pay the applicant an additional 0.07 percent of the salary for each day of delay in the salary till February 20, 2024.

The Public Defender welcomes the decision of Impexpharma LLC to implement the recommendation and believes that the willingness shown by the private sector to ensure the protection of the rights of employees contributes to the development of the labour market and, at the same time, improves the quality of human rights protection
