Trainings for Police Officers, Teachers and Representatives of Marneuli Municipality

On November 21-22, 2019, representatives of the Public Defender conducted trainings for the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, teachers of public schools and representatives of the Marneuli City Hall and Center of Culture. The themes of the trainings were equality and prohibition of discrimination.

In particular, the main themes of the trainings for representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were the legislation on sexual harassment and the practice of the Public Defender. The trainings with teachers, representatives of the Marneuli municipality and the Center of Culture also covered other issues related to equality, including information on various forms of discrimination and standards relating to the encouragement of discrimination.

The meetings were held within the framework of the EU project "Combating All forms of Discrimination in Georgia".

The Public Defender regularly disseminates information on the equality legislation and legal remedies via trainings, information meetings and other events within the framework of her equality mandate.
