UNHCR Regional Representative Hands Books over to Public Defender's Office

On May 7, 2018, JohannesvanderKlaauw, UNHCR Regional Representative in the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia), visited Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, and handed her over books about international law for the Library of the Public Defender.

The main themes of the books are international refugee law and religious rights, conventions against torture and inhuman treatment as well as refugee status, international criminal cases, comments and practice of the European Court of Human Rights. Among the books are the publications of famous American-Canadian scholar of international refugee law, J.C. Hathaway. The themes of the publications are refugee rights and status.

The Human Rights Library of the Public Defender is often supplied with new and important publications and textbooks on international law by international organizations.

At present, the library has over 7,000 books, the main part of which is theological and legal literature, including codes and comments. Books are available for any reader.
