Winners of Photo Contest (Non)-equality Around Us Awarded

On December 4, 2017, Public Defender of Georgia Ucha Nanuashvili and EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman awarded the winners of the photo contest (Non)-equality Around Us.

The photo contest on discrimination was held for the first time and 23 people participated in it. The photos were evaluated by independent experts. According to their evaluation, the first place was taken by Mariam Nikuradze, the second place was earned by Giorgi Dundua and the third place was taken by Manana Kveliashvili. The winners were awarded with laptops and tablet computers. Nino Kakabadze, Giorgi Khelashvili, Vazha Topuria, Tamaz Chichakadze, Roin Gundadze, Sophiko Aptsiauri, Givi Avaliani, Giorgi Girkelidze, Ana Batsikadze and Marine Jonjua qualified for the final and received certificates.

In addition, 19 best photos of the competition were exhibited at the award ceremony.

The themes of the contest were - the idea of ​​equality between men and women, including women's political participation, gender stereotypes, gender clichés, discrimination, the rights situation of (ethnic, religious, sexual) minorities and other ideas of equality and non-equality.

The contest was held with the support of the EU project Fight against All Forms of Discrimination in Georgia.
