A memorandum of cooperation11 04 2012On April 10, 2012, the Public Defender of Georgia, George Tugushi, and the Rector of Ilia State University, Gigi Tevzadze, concluded a memorandum of cooperation.
The cooperation of the parties aims at developing theoretical, professional, and practical skills of the university students; providing them with practical experience through cooperation with the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia; and contributing to the development of a high quality legal education at the university.
The parties have agreed that at the beginning of every academic semester two students of Ilia State University will take a three-month internship at the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia. The students will be selected after they are interviewed on the basis of applications provided by the university. And the university takes an obligation to acknowledge the academic credit of students who complete the internship course successfully.
The parties have also agreed that they will plan different activities together, which will contribute to the implementation of the goals determined by this memorandum.
