A memorandum of cooperation between the Council of National Minorities at the Public Defender’s Office and the Central Election Commission

On June 7, 2012, the Public Defender of Georgia and the Council of National Minorities at the Public Defender’s Office concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the Central Election Commission.
 

The memorandum was signed by the Public Defender, George Tugushi, and the Head of the Central Election Commission, Zurab Kharatishvili.
 
The parties hope that the memorandum will make the cooperation between the agencies systemic and contribute to civil integration and the protection of the rights of national minorities.
 
The conclusion of the memorandum is provided for in the National Concept for Tolerance and Civil Integration and the five-year Action Plan adopted by the Georgian government on May 8, 2009, during whose implementation the activities of ministries and agencies will be coordinated by the Ministry of Reintegration. The Council of National Minorities at the Public Defender’s Office and, accordingly, the national minorities of Georgia will be involved in the implementation and monitoring of implementation of the concept and the action plan.
