Public Defender Welcomes Agreement on Number of Issues between Ministry of Health and Parents of Children Diagnosed with Achondroplasia

Public Defender Levan Ioseliani welcomes the constructive dialogue and an agreement reached n a number of issues between the Ministry of Health and the parents of children diagnosed with achondroplasia based on the mediation of the Office. As a result, the parents are calling off their 24-hour rallies in front of the state chancellery.

The Public Defender’s Office continues to work in the coordination council working on the issue of rare diseases in the Ministry of Health and hopes that, based on the best interests of children, the necessary protocol and guidelines will be developed in the near future for the management of achondroplasia and appropriate treatment will be provided to children diagnosed with the disease.
