First Deputy Public Defender Takes Part in Event Organized by US Embassy

On December 9, 2021, Tamar Gvaramadze, First Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, participated in a virtual discussion organized by the Embassy of the United States of America on the occasion of the Human Rights Day.

In her speech, US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan emphasized that respect for human rights was a shared value for the United States and Georgia. Tamar Gvaramadze, First Deputy Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, and Evan Elliott, Political Officer at the US Embassy, discussed the human rights practices in the United States and Georgia, challenges in this area and the efforts aimed at overcoming these challenges.

High school students also participated in the online discussion.
