Special Report “Access to Health Care Services for Representatives of National Minorities”
This special report of the Public Defender of Georgia reviews the language and information barriers that have been hindering representatives of national minorities living in Georgia in a number of directions for years, including in accessing health care services.
In order to prepare the report, representatives of the Public Defender’s Office held meetings with medical personnel employed in the municipalities, as well as with representatives of civil society, in fifteen municipalities of three regions (Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti). In order to further clarify and process the information received from the meetings, the Public Defender’s Office requested information from relevant public institutions and municipal mayors.
The main findings of the report are as follows:
