Kurban Bayram Holiday

The Public Defender of Georgia congratulates the Muslim citizens living in Georgia on the Kurban Bayram holiday and wishes peace and happiness to their families.

This year the holiday started on July 9 and will last for 3 days as usual.

The idea of Kurban Bayram is related to the ban on human sacrifice. Traditionally, during the holiday, Muslim families sacrifice animals and distribute them among relatives and neighbours regardless of their religious beliefs. Therefore, Kurban Bayram is also the celebration of the idea of charity and its special importance.
