Human Rights Awareness Day in Regions

The Regional Offices of the Public Defender's Office held various thematic meetings and participated in the events planned by state agencies and international organizations in connection with the Human Rights Day on 10 December 2018.

At the meetings held with school children, university students, teachers, probationers, local non-governmental organizations and civil activists, representatives of the Public Defender's Office spoke about the Public Defender's mandate, bullying, violence against women, domestic violence, early marriage and other human rights-related challenges in the regions of Georgia.

In connection with the Human Rights Day, information meetings were held in the central districts of 8 cities of Georgia - Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Samtredia, Batumi, Borjomi, Gori, Rustavi and Telavi, during which, representatives of the Public Defender provided information about the Public Defender's mandate, distributed information brochures and symbolic gifts.
