Human Rights Week Ends with Information Campaign in Regions

Public Defender's regional offices organized meetings in Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Gori, Telavi, Marneuli and Akhalkalaki municipalities within the framework of the Human Rights Week on December 5-10, 2017.

Representatives of the Public Defender's Office met with locals, public school students, students, probationers, teachers, representatives of non-governmental organizations and municipal councils and spoke about the issues of violence, early marriage, women's rights, gender equality, violence against children, Convention rights, legal mechanisms, Public Defender’s mandate, Public Defender's recommendations and the general situation in the country.

A documentary film on gender issues - "Girls have to say something" was displayed for students of Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University.

On December 13-14, street events will be held in Marneuli, Zugdidi, Gori, Batumi, Kutaisi, Akhalkalaki, Ozurgeti, Telavi and Mestia, where representatives of the regional offices will speak about the Public Defender's mandate and hand over thematic brochures issued by the Public Defender's Office to the locals.
