On July 8, 2025, in the city of Ambrolauri, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, officially opened a new regional office of the Public Defender of Georgia, which will ensure the detection of human rights violations in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti and will support the effective implementation of the Public Defender's mandate.

The opening event was attended by representatives of the local authorities and public sector.

It is noteworthy that the Public Defender's representative has been working in the region since November 2024. The newly opened office was transferred to the Public Defender's Office by the Ambrolauri municipality self-government. The renovated workspace will support the effective activities of the Public Defender's representative in the region to protect the rights of the local population.

At this stage, the regional offices of the Public Defender's Office are located in 10 different cities. The new Racha office is located in Ambrolauri, at 11 Bratislava-Racha Street.
