Meeting with Armenian Ombudsman

On November 7, 2016, Ucha Nanuashvili, the Public Defender of Georgia, met with Armand Tatoyan, the newly elected Ombudsman of Armenia. At the meeting, the Public Defender of Georgia briefed the Armenian Ombudsman and his delegation of his mandate and activities. He also spoke about the current challenges and problems in the field of protection of human rights in Georgia.

The Armenian delegation showed particular interest towards the activities and work specifics of the National Preventive Mechanism, as well as the supervision of the implementation of the anti-discrimination legislation by the Public Defender of Georgia.

The ombudsmen also talked about future plans and prospects of cooperation.
