On 30 September 2015 Pubic Defender Ucha Nanuashvili and Deputy Public Defender Natia Katsitadze met with the inter-party group, members of which presented their views about the by-elections of Martvili and Sagarejo municipalities, as well as the general reforming of the electoral system in light of the Constitutional Court’s decision.

“The Pubic Defender’s Office will work on the presented issue and will make a decision on whether to appeal against the appointment of by-elections in the coming days", - Ucha Nanuashvili said at a briefing held after the meeting.

On May 28 the Constitutional Court satisfied the lawsuit of Ucha Nanuashvili and Mikheil Sharashidze, as a result of which, the clause according to which each constituency has one representative to the Parliament regardless of the number of voters was declared unconstitutional. The non-parliamentary opposition believes that the decision must be applied to the by-elections as well.
