Public Defender's Regional Office of Gori Robbed

On the morning of July 18, 2017, an employee of the Public Defender's regional office of Gori found that the office door was broken and the office was robbed. A portable computer, in which the electronic versions of the applications submitted to the office were kept, has been taken away.

It should be noted that the relationship between representatives of the Public Defender and applicants is confidential. Accordingly, any kind of publication of the material kept in the computer may significantly harm the applicants' interests in Shida Kartli, which is a particularly sensitive region in terms of human rights.

Police have been involved in the case since the morning and crime officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working at the office. The Public Defender expresses hope that the investigation will be conducted objectively, efficiently and quickly.
