Public Defender's Representatives Attend ENNHRI General Assembly

On October 26-28, 2016, in Croatia’s capital Zagreb, Niko Tatulashvili, Head of the Public Defender’s Department of International Relations and Communications, and Nino Kvirkvelia, chief specialist of the Department, attended the General Assembly of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), as well as the meetings of the Finance Committee and the European Coordinating Committee.

At the Finance Committee meeting, the members of the Committee summed up the budget of 2016 and talked about the priorities of 2017. Public Defender’s representative Niko Tatulashvili presented a financial report (2016) of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions at the General Assembly session and talked about the future plans of the Finance Committee.

At the General Assembly session, members of the organization summed up the current year and planned new activities.

The 28 October workshop of the General Assembly was dedicated to the counterterrorism issues. Participants discussed terrorism challenges at the plenary session and in small groups. They also considered activities aimed at solving global problems.

The General Assembly of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions was attended by about 80 representatives of 35 human rights national institutions.
