In September 2025, representatives of the Equality Department of the Public Defender's Office held information meetings in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions. The events were attended by employees of the City Halls and City Assemblies of the Mtskheta, Dusheti, Tianeti, Kazbegi, Tsageri, Lentekhi, Oni and Ambrolauri municipalities, as well as representatives of non-profit (non-commercial) legal entities subordinate to the municipality.

The information meetings aimed to encourage local self-government bodies to more actively align their activities with the principles of equality and non-discrimination. Participants received information on the powers granted to the Public Defender in the field of equality. Special attention was paid to the topic of sexual harassment, including stereotypes prevalent in society, the legislative definition of sexual harassment and relevant practical examples.

The Public Defender's Office considers such awareness-raising activities to be of paramount importance for improving the current situation in the country in terms of equality and continues to conduct educational activities for various groups.
