Public Defender of Georgia Submits Comments to European Committee of Social Rights relating to State Report

The Public Defender of Georgia submitted comments to the European Committee of Social Rights on the State report on the labour rights enshrined in the European Social Charter.

The document sent by the Public Defender presents alternative assessments of the realization of the rights to reasonable daily and weekly working hours, fair remuneration, organization, collective bargaining and strike.

At the same time, in the comments submitted to the Committee, the Public Defender also assessed the measures taken by the State for the effective implementation of the above rights.

The European Social Charter is a treaty of the Council of Europe that guarantees fundamental social and economic rights. The rights provided for in the Charter concern every person in their daily lives and are related to employment, housing, health, education, social protection and well-being.
