On June 16, 2023, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani visited the Orkhevi social housing and checked the conditions of the facility.

More than 250 homeless people are housed in the building, among which 90 are children.

"I personally checked the situation in the facility and it is clear that the conditions do not meet any standards. The building is in poor condition and people living there are waiting for the expert's report about the safety of the building. The housing is overcrowded, it is not accessible for persons or children with disabilities, the materials used for separating the spaces cannot block the noise. Considering these problems, the Government needs to pay more attention so that these people can live in decent conditions and proper environment", said the Public Defender.
