First Deputy Public Defender Meets with Members of PACE Monitoring Committee Delegation

On March 28, 2023, Tamar Gvaramadze, First Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, met with members of the delegation of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Claude Kern, Edite Estrela and Bas Klein, who are paying a visit to Georgia. The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Natalia Voutova, also attended the meeting.

Tamar Gvaramadze spoke about the human rights situation in the country and the priorities of the Public Defender.

Other topics discussed at the meeting were the progress of democratic reforms, political environment and polarization, as well as the quality of efforts aimed at rapprochement with the European Union.
