Public Defender's Meeting with President of Georgia

On 12 March 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with President Salome Zourabichvili and provided information about the human rights situation in the country.

The meeting in the presidential palace focused on human rights violations on the occupied territories of Georgia, the difficulties faced by the residents of these territories, including the dangerous environment, the restricted freedom of movement and the lack of opportunity of getting education in a native language.

The President and the Public Defender also talked about the pardoning of prisoners and the involvement of the Public Defender in the process.
