On May 8, 2025, the Public Defender of Georgia visited life-sentenced prisoners in Batumi Penitentiary Establishment No. 3 and received information about the progress of the 2-year programme for the preparation of life-sentenced prisoners for release.

The Public Defender spoke with the prisoners about the special report prepared by the Office, which presents legislative and practical analyses of justice implemented against life-sentenced prisoners and early release.
