75% of Respondents, Who Have Heard of Public Defender's Office, Trust It

With the support of the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), organization ACT conducted a research -Human Rights and Access to Justice in Georgia: Public Perceptions and Awareness, which showed that the population's attitude towards the Public Defender's Office is positive.

According to the research, 75% of those, who have heard of the Public Defender’s Office, trust this institution, 80% know that Ucha Nanuashvili is Public Defender and 73% are ready to appeal to the Public Defender in case of necessity, which refers to a high level of confidence in the Public Defender’s Office. It should be noted that 60% of the total number of respondents are aware of the Public Defender's activities.

65% of respondents consider that information released by the Public Defender's Office is credible. The trust rate is higher by 9-11% in the cities and villages.

It is also important that in the last 5 years, 72% of the population, who have had any kind of contact with the Public Defender's Office, were satisfied with this experience and the majority of them emphasized attentiveness, professionalism, justice and quick service while describing the Public Defender's
