Workshop on Gender Stereotypes in Media

On 7 December 2018, the Public Defender of Georgia held a workshop on gender stereotypes in media, which was attended by journalists, media experts and other stakeholders.

Participants of the workshop - Nata Dzvelishvili, Director of the Charter of Journalistic Ethics, Tamar Kintsurashvili, Executive Director of the Media Development Fund, and Tabula journalist Khatia Ghoghoberidze spoke about the standards of the Charter of Journalistic Ethics, sexism, gender stereotypes, sexual harassment and ethical reporting on women victims.

After the end of the sessions, a discussion was held, during which participants talked about various topics, listened to arguments and recommendations on how media can influence the improvement of women's rights.

The workshop was organized by the Department of Gender Equality of the Public Defender's Office with the support of UN Women.
