School Students Visit Public Defender’s Office

On November 17, 2022, Deputy Public Defender Giorgi Burjanadze hosted the 10th grade students of Lamara Margvelashvili School XXI Century LLC and introduced them to the basic principles of human rights and freedoms, the mandate of the Public Defender and the structure of the Office.

The topics of discussion at the meeting were the role and importance of the Public Defender in terms of protecting human rights and establishing a legal and tolerant state; the activities of the Public Defender’s Office to improve the quality of human rights education in general education and higher education institutions. The students showed special interest towards the rights of minors and the procedure for applying to the Public Defender’s Office in case of violation of these rights.

At the end of the meeting, Giorgi Burjanadze answered the students' questions about the human rights important to them.
