The Public Defender congratulates Assyrians with the New Year

On April 1, Assyrian people celebrate their New Year festivity - Akitu Kha b-Nisan. According to the Assyrian calendar this year’s April 1 marks the year of 6765.

On this day, Assyrians celebrate arrival of spring, rebirth of nature and life; they gather together and mark the festivity with national songs and dancing.

The Public Defender of Georgia wishes the Assyrian community of Georgia happy, peaceful and prosperous year.
