Training on Equality for Representatives of Insurance Companies

On June 28-29, 2022, representatives of the Equality Department of the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia conducted a training on issues of equality and prohibition of discrimination for representatives of insurance companies operating in Georgia.

The event was held in cooperation with the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia and with the support of the Council of Europe.

Representatives of the Public Defender of Georgia provided information to the training participants about the standards of equality and protection from discrimination, constituent elements of discrimination, types of discrimination and rights protection mechanisms; The issues of incitement to discrimination and expressions inciting discrimination, as well as the Public Defender’s practice relating to the cases of discrimination in the field of private and state insurance were also discussed.

The Public Defender's Equality Department continues to work in the direction of raising awareness of representatives of the private and public sectors about protection against discrimination.
