Public Defender's Office Holds Informational Meetings as Part of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, representatives of the Gender and Regional Departments of the Public Defender's Office of Georgia held informational meetings for representatives of education, healthcare, social services and self-governments in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli and Kakheti regions.
Representatives of the Public Defender spoke about the challenges relating to violence against women and domestic violence, as well as child marriage, and introduced the mandate, activities and recommendations of the Public Defender's Office in this direction.
The meeting participants discussed the current situation in the region, increased access to protection mechanisms against violence, and future cooperation.
