Training for Employees of Public Defender’s Office

In December 2022 and January 2023, trainings were held for the employees of the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia on the topics: discriminatory behavior, characteristics of vulnerable groups; effective communication.

During the two-stage trainings, psychologist Maia Tsiramua spoke about the anatomy of discriminatory behavior, the widespread myths and stereotypes about mental health, the most common mental health problems, the aspects of effective communication and verbal de-escalation techniques.

The meetings took place with the active involvement of the participants; The representatives of the Public Defender's Office shared their experience of communicating with applicants, discussed cases from their work practice.

The training was organized by the USAID Rule of Law Programme.
