Working Meeting on Strengthening of Judicial System Monitoring by Public Defender’s Office

On November 2, 2022, an event was organized by the Public Defender of Georgia and the Rule of Law Program of the US Agency for International Development, where the possibilities for strengthening the mechanism of monitoring of the judicial system by the Public Defender’s Office were discussed.

Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, and Rusudan Tabatadze, Rule of Law Project Manager, Democracy and Governance Office of USAID/Caucasus, delivered opening speeches at the event.

The meeting was chaired by the international expert of the USAID Rule of Law Program, Jaroslaw Gwizdak, who presented his opinions on the mandate, future strategy and forms of the monitoring of the judicial system by the Public Defender’s Office. The presentation was followed by a discussion.

Representatives of state and non-governmental organization attended the presentation.
