Working Meeting between Public Defender’s Office and Permanent Parliamentary Council for the Protection of Children's Rights

On February 11 and 12, 2023, a working meeting was held between representatives of the Public Defender’s Office and the Permanent Parliamentary Council for the Protection of Children's Rights.

Representatives of the Public Defender talked about violence against children, poverty, alternative care, progress in deinstitutionalization process, right to education and importance of support programmes for children and their families. They also presented the results of the monitoring activities in the direction of children's rights and the recommendations issued by the Public Defender.

On his part, the Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Council for the Protection of Children's Rights, Mr. Davit Sergeenko, spoke about the methodology of the Council's activities.

The working meeting was held in the discussion format, during which, among other issues, the parties talked about future cooperation.
