Information Meeting on Adequate Housing, Food Access, Rights of Older Persons and Eco-migrants

On October 26, 2022, employees of the Public Defender’s Office held a meeting with representatives of 12 municipalities of Eastern Georgia in the city of Telavi.

At the meeting, Lika Tsiklauri, Head of the Department of Civil, Political, Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, spoke about the protection of the right to adequate housing, access to food, the rights of older persons and eco-migrants, the relevant chapters of the 2021 parliamentary report of the Public Defender and the recommendations developed by the Public Defender’s Office. In addition, a discussion was held relating to the challenges and solutions in the mentioned direction. Representatives of Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Dedoplistskaro, Tetritskaro, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Sagarejo, Akhmeta, Kvareli, Gurjaani and Telavi municipalities took part in the meetings.

The event was held within the framework of the agreement program between the Public Defender’s Office and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
